Papus gives no separate description of this card. It is derived from his system: Chalices is He (ה), the passive, receptive principle, acting in Briah, the creative world; the Page is He final, the realizing term embodied — the suit brought down into fact. The realizing term as a person: feeling brought down into fact for the first time. The Page is the moment a sympathy stops being internal and does something — an offer made, a message sent, a susceptibility acted on before it has been fully thought through. Papus's fourth term is the one that makes things real, and a Page makes them real clumsily, which is a description of the card rather than a complaint about it.

At the commencement, the matter begins with a small emotional act: a message, an approach. In opposition, someone's untested sincerity, which is considerably harder to refuse than a demand. At equilibrium the Page is what keeps a feeling in circulation. As the result: something felt becomes something done.
