The active origin of the suit of conflict, and what originates is a distinction. Papus's Vau links two things by standing between them, so the first term of that suit is the cut which establishes that there are two things at all: the point made, the truth stated, the line drawn where none existed. Clarity as an act rather than a mood — and every conflict later in the suit follows from a distinction someone insisted on here.
Reversed
The cut made for its own sake — distinction as an instrument, clarity used to divide rather than to see. Or the point never made at all, so the whole suit's business proceeds on a confusion nobody was willing to name.
